(Aberdeen) Acergy has entered an agreement with Dofcon to charter a newbuild heavy construction vessel for eight years starting spring 2008. The Skandi Acergy is currently under construction at the Aker Soviknes yard in Norway.

When complete, it will be 153 m long, with a cargo deck area of 2,100 sq m. It will be equipped with a heave compensated crane with 400 metric ton lift capability, a 3,000 t under-deck carousel, and Class 3 dynamic positioning. It will also feature an ice-class hull, enabling it to work in far-northern European waters.
