(Stavanger) Statoil has contracted DOF ASA for a new supply vessel, with delivery due during the second half of 2008. The Aker PSV 06 CD-type vessel is currently under construction at Aker Yards in Brattvaag, western Norway: the contract has a five-year duration.
In line with Statoil's environmental policy, this is a clean design-ship featuring a double hull to safeguard the diesel and oil tanks. Its engines are also configured to produce lower emissions. The vessel will have a deck area of around 1,000 sq m, a length of 95 m, and a weight of 5,200 dwt.
