Viking Supply Ships acquires six new platform suppply vessels following takeover of SBS Marine

Aberdeen -- Viking Supply Ships has acquired SBS Aberdeen, the parent company of platform supply vessel operator SBS Marine. The latter operates a fleet of four PSVs, with two further vessels under construction in Norway, due to be delivered in November and next February.
All six vessels are booked on long-term contracts, five of them working offshore India supporting Transcoean's drilling operations. The other is working for Talisman in the UK North Sea. Viking will run SBS as a sister company of its Aberdeen-based subsidiary, Viking Offshore Services.
