SHARJAH -- UAE-based Maritime Industrial Services has received acceptance of delivery from its client, SeaWolf Oilfield Services of Nigeria, for the SeaWolf Oritsetimeyin (Hull 104), which was tendered for delivery earlier this month.

The SeaWolf Oritsetimeyin is the first ever Friede & Goldman Super M2 design and the first offshore jackup drilling rig to be built in the Middle East.

The ABS-class certified rig is one of two vessels being built for SeaWolf Oilfield Services and the first of seven rigs currently being constructed at MIS' yard in Sharjah, UAE.

"This project has had its share of challenges, but today's achievement is significant not just for MIS but for the Middle East oil and gas services industry as a whole," says Kevin Hudson, MIS Group CEO. "MIS is helping to position the region as a center for the construction of offshore drilling rigs – indeed a center for oil and gas engineering and construction excellence."
