HOUSTON --At this year's Offshore Technology Conference, Saipem America has on display models of its newest vessels, the HOS Mystique, Castoro 7, and Saipem FDS 2.
TheSaipem FDS 2 is Saipem's newest deepwater field development vessel. At 183 m (600 ft) it will have a vertical J-lay tower with a 2,000-ton (1,848 metric ton) capacity to handle sealines up to 36 in (91 cm) diameter in up to 3,000 m (9,842 ft) water depth. Saipem says the vessel also can S-lay to the same capacity.
TheHOS Mystique is a new 250-ft (76 m) DP-2 ROV support vessel now working in the Gulf of Mexico. The US-flagged vessel has 4,354 sq ft (404.5 sq m) of deck space and a 70-ton (61.5 metric ton), heave-compensated NOV knuckle-boom crane.
