SINGAPORE -- Gander Drilling has awarded Jurong Shipyard a $247.3 million rig order to complete and deliver a Moss Maritime DP-3 semisubmersible drilling unit with an option for an additional unit.

The six-column baredeck hull, built in a Russian shipyard, is expected to arrive at Jurong Shipyard this month. On arrival, Jurong will proceed with the construction, outfitting, furnishing, equipping, testing, and completion of the baredeck hull.

Scheduled for delivery by end-2010, the ultra deepwater harsh environment semisubmersible rig has already secured a five-year charter contract with Pemex.

This new rig will be built for a water depth rating of 10,000 ft (3,048 m) and maximum drilling depth of 30,000 ft (9,144 m).
