LONDON -- London Marine Consultants (LMC) has designed the external turret mooring system for Eni’s Aquila field FPSO. The turret is currently being built at Dubai Dry Docks.
The new FPSO, which is a converted VLCC, will initially be moored in the Aquila field in the Adriatic Sea. It will be connected to six risers and three umbilicals.
Unlike other column-type turrets, LMC’s design features an external column that surrounds the turret, uniting the upper and lower structures.
