Sedco terminates Transocean Legend contract

Sedco Forex International has terminated its agreements with Oilex to drill exploration wells in the Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA) between Australia and Timor Leste using the semisubmersible Transocean Legend.

PERTH, Australia -- Sedco Forex International has terminated its agreements with Oilex to drill exploration wells in the Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA) between Australia and Timor Leste using the semisubmersible Transocean Legend.

Oilex is seeking an alternate rig and is working with regulatory authorities to obtain an extension to the exploration period under its current Production Sharing Contract.
