StatoilHydro streamlines vessel operations

OSLO -- Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved StatoilHydro’s request to service three North Sea platforms with one standby vessel.
Previously StatoilHydro maintained one vessel to support Volve’s platform and one for the Sleipner East/West platforms.
The new joint standby vessel, operated by Esbjerg-based Esvagt, has a speed of 17 knots and is equipped with a daughter craft and a conventional MOB boat. It is OilRec class, with Nofo oil spill recovery equipment and firefighting equipment rated to Fifi Class 1 at 1,200 cu m water/hr (42,377 cu m/hr).
