Yantai Raffles mating deckbox to semisub hull

Yantai Raffles Shipyard has begun the final preparations to mate a 12,000-ton (10,886-metric ton) deckbox to the hull of the semisub SS Pantanal using the 20,000-metric ton (18,144-metric ton) crane TAISUN.

SINGAPORE-- Yantai Raffles Shipyard has begun the final preparations to mate a 12,000-ton (10,886-metric ton) deckbox to the hull of the semisub SS Pantanal using the 20,000-metric ton (18,144-metric ton) crane TAISUN. The mating is due to take place on Sept. 25.

The vessel is the first of two drilling rigs Yantai Raffles is delivering to Schahin. It is equipped for water depths of 2,000 m (6,562 ft) and has a D-2 positioning system.
