Wärtsilä to design ONGC supply vessels

HELSINKI, Finland -- Pipavav Shipyard has contracted Wärtsilä to design 12 offshore supply vessels for ONGC. Production of the first seven vessels is scheduled to begin in 1Q 2010.

The 59-m (194-ft) vessels will support search, rescue, and standby operations, and transport cargo between ONGC's supply base and offshore installations.
