Leighton unveils pipelay vessel Leighton Eclipse

Leighton International has unveiled the Leighton Eclipse, a 130-m (427-ft) pipelay and offshore construction vessel.

BATAM, Indonesia -- Leighton International has unveiled theLeighton Eclipse, a 130-m (427-ft) pipelay and offshore construction vessel. The vessel initially will deploy to India for a $ 750-million pipeline replacement project on ONGC’s Mumbai High field.

The vessel can handle pipe diameters from 6-in. to 60-in. (15-cm to 152-cm) OD, and has two, 60-metric ton (66-ton) pipe tensioners. It is fitted with a 300-metric ton (331-ton) pedestal crane and can work in water depths of up to 150 m (492 ft). It offers manual, semiautomatic, and fully automatic welding.
