SCHIEDAM, the Netherlands -- The following GustoMSC-designed vessels have been delivered in the first quarter of this year:
•Maersk Developer was delivered to Maersk Drilling on Jan. 2. The rig, a GustoMSC DSS21, is the first in a series of three deepwater development semisubmersibles to be built by Keppel FELS in Singapore.
• Maersk Resolve was delivered to Maersk Drilling on Jan. 20. The rig, a GustoMSC CJ50-X100-MC, was the third in a series of four units. These units are the next generation of 350-ft (107-m) jackup drilling units. The drilling equipment centered on the X-Y cantilever system will make the rig well-qualified for drilling deep and difficult wells, the company says.
• The Development Driller III was delivered to Transocean on Feb. 7. The rig, a GustoMSC DSS51, is designed to construct wells up to 37,500 ft (11,430 m) and operate in water depths of up to 7,500 ft (2,286 m) with a payload of 13,500 tons (12,247 metric tons). The DSS series has been developed jointly with Keppel's Deepwater Technology Group.
• On March 12, Seajacks took delivery of the first self-propelled jackup Seajacks Kraken. The rig, a GustoMSC NG-2500X, is the first of two to be built by Lamprell Energy. The NG-2500X series of units is equipped with four thrusters for transiting and with a full DP-2 system for positioning. GustoMSC also supplied the new Variable Speed jacking systems for these units. The units have accommodation for up to 90 persons and heavy-duty crane capacity.
