ABERDEEN, UK – Awilco Drilling says rig availability is limited offshore the UK for the remainder of 2012.
Tendering activity is, therefore, to focus on start-up of operations in 2013, with numerous significant requirements still outstanding. In some cases, operators are considering postponing programs into 2014.
Day rates continue to increase, Awilco adds, to around $360,000 for semisubmersibles, as evidenced by the company’s most recent contract.
