Kentec safety equipment to go on Malaysia offshore vessels

NGV Tech has ordered Kentec Syncro AS Marine fire control panels for four offshore support vessels.

DARTFORD, UK – NGV Tech has ordered Kentec Syncro AS Marine fire control panels for four offshore support vessels.

These are undergoing fit out and refurbishment at the NGV shipyard in Sijangkang, Malaysia, and comprise:

  • A 52-m (170-ft) multiple utility vessel built to BV classification for National Iranian Oil Co.
  • A 38-m (124-ft) DP-2 oil and gas field support catamaran built to ABS classification for SeaWorks
  • Two refurbished 38-m multi-purpose oil recovery Fifi tug boats built to BV classification for Marine Services (Saudi Arabia).

All are being fitted with fire safety systems using Kentec Syncro ASM single loop, analogue addressable fire control panels, Syncro VIEW repeater panels, and Syncro Indent fire control panels. All equipment is supported by Hochiki open protocol fire data communications and Hochiki devices.

The fire and safety equipment is installed in accordance with IMO and HSC code standards. The Syncro ASM is certified as compliant to the Maritime Equipment Directorate and approved by ABS, CSS, Det Norske Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyd’s Register, and Korean register.
