Maersk vessel to undergo upgrade for Australia subsea work

Maersk Supply Service has won four contracts with a total value of around $250 million to support programs offshore Brazil and Western Australia.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Maersk Supply Service has won four contracts with a total value of around $250 million to support programs offshore Brazil and Western Australia.
Petrobras has extended the contracts of the anchor handling tug supply vessels Maersk Blazer and Maersk Boulder by four years from February 2012.
They have been working for Petrobras since 2007 and 1999 respectively, mainly performing deepwater operations with conventional and torpedo anchors.
ExxonMobil has contracted the platform supply vessels Maersk Nomad and Maersk Nexus for a minimum of two years each.
Maersk Nomad’s contract calls for structural modifications to the vessel, including installation of a 125-metric ton (138-ton) crane to support subsea operations in the Jansz field on Australia’s North West shelf.
Maersk Nexus is already in Australia, while Maersk Nomad will be delivered to ExxonMobil in April.
