ABERDEEN, UKBibby Remote Intervention Ltd. (BRIL), part of subsea installation contractor, Bibby Offshore, has expanded its fleet by signing a charter agreement with Olympic Shipping for an inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) light-construction vessel, and also by adding two heavy-duty ROVs to its operations.

The charter agreement is for a newly built MT6021 vessel for a three-year period, with options to extend for an additional two years. The vessel will be mobilized with BRIL ROVs and is expected to arrive in Aberdeen in early April next year. Initially, the MT6021 will carry out North Sea IRM scopes of work, along with pipeline and structural inspection and light construction support.

Additionally, BRIL has further expanded its ROV fleet with the purchase of two new heavy-duty vehicles. The two ROVs, due to arrive in March and June this year, are both SMD Quasar 150-hp vehicles. Capable of survey, construction, and drill support operations, these units will most likely be used to support Bibby Offshore’s expansion into South East Asia and North America.
