ENSCO finalizes newbuild ENSCO 8504 construction contract

A subsidiary of ENSCO International has finalized its $512-million construction contract for an ultra deepwater semisubmersible rig with Keppel FELS Shipyard in Singapore.

DALLAS -- A subsidiary of ENSCO International has finalized its $512-million construction contract for an ultra deepwater semisubmersible rig with Keppel FELS Shipyard in Singapore. Delivery of the ENSCO 8504 rig is expected in the second half of 2011.

The semi is the company's fifth ultra deepwater semisubmersible rig in the ENSCO 8500 Series currently under construction, and will be part of the company's six-rig deepwater fleet that includes theENSCO 7500 deepwater semisubmersible.
