Island Offshore has awarded Aker Yards a $239 million contract to build a well intervention vessel.

OSLO -- Island Offshore has awarded Aker Yards a $239 million contract to build a well intervention vessel. The unit will be based on the Rolls-Royce UT 767 CDL design and will be built at Aker Yards in Norway.
The new vessel will be based on the same design as the recently-deliveredIsland Wellserver, upgraded with increased length, engine capacity, thrusters capacity, and topside capacity, according to the company.
