PASCAGOULA, Mississippi -- Hercules Offshore has awarded Signal International two contracts for repair of the drilling rigs Hercules 78 and Hercules 201. Both rigs sustained damage when Hurricane Ike entered the Gulf of Mexico in early September. The rigs will be arriving at Signal's East yard in Pascagoula, Mississippi later this week.

"The rigs will be dry-docked side-by-side on Signal's Dual Carrier and undergo a thorough inspection to determine the full extent of the damage and necessary repairs," says Ron Schnoor, Signal's COO. "Dry-docking two rigs at once expedites the work and maintains cost effectiveness for our client."

With these new contracts Signal will hire approximately 200 additional craft personnel.
