Allseas orders steel for newbuild construction vessel

Allseas has awarded ThyssenKrupp Mannex a $144-million order for 36,000 metric tons (39,683 tons) of high-tensile steel for the jacket and topside lift systems of the platform installation/decommissioning and pipelay vessel Pieter Schelte.

CHATEL-SAINT-DENIS, Switzerland -- Allseas has awarded ThyssenKrupp Mannex a $144-million order for 36,000 metric tons (39,683 tons) of high-tensile steel for the jacket and topside lift systems of the platform installation/decommissioning and pipelay vessel Pieter Schelte.

The steel will be supplied in 2009 and 2010.
