OSLO Norway --DeepOcean has agreed a charter with Vroon Offshore Services for a new dynamically positioned ROV/survey vessel.
The 60 m long (197 ft)VOS Satisfaction, due to be delivered this month, will be equipped with multi-beam echo-sounders and an ROV system for route surveys, seabed mapping, and pipelay support.
DeepOcean has agreed a three-year charter with two one-year options. It will be operated from the company's offices in Den Helder and Norwich, UK, and will work on projects in the southern North Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the Mediterranean.
The company's DeepOcean Shipping subsidiary plans to take up an option to buy the multi-purpose support vesselArbol Grande from North Sea Commander Shipping for $42.36 million.
The 94 m (308 ft) long construction and subsea support vessel has a DP-2 system and accommodate a crew of up to 199. It is currently providing inspection, repair, and maintenance services to Constructora Subacuatica Diavaz in Mexico.
