BERMUDA -- The former Sealift/Frontline Suezmax tanker Front Granite, now owned by Granite B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dockwise Ltd., is in Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard in China, and its conversion into a heavy lift vessel is under way.

The conversion from a tanker into a heavy lift vessel entails the complete renewal of the entire midship section after removing the original cargo section.

Construction of the new midship section started mid-September 2007 and is ongoing, while erection of double bottom started at the beginning of this year.

The conversion of the remaining Sealift/Frontline single hull Suezmax tankers to semisubmersible heavy lift vessels is in progress and the last three vessels are scheduled to join the fleet this year.
