Milaha targets field extension projects with latest liftboat

Milaha has taken delivery of a new liftboat which will be deployed offshore, particularly for maintenance and support of clients’ brownfield operations in the Middle East.

DOHA, Qatar – Milaha has taken delivery of a new liftboat which will be deployed offshore, particularly for maintenance and support of clients’ brownfield operations in the Middle East.

The Milaha Explorer, built at the Bohai Shipyard in China, is said to be the biggest liftboat owned by a Qatari contractor, with a large deck area and variable load capacity, and accommodation for 300 personnel.

Vivek Seth, CEO ofHalul Offshore Services Co., said: “We have ordered a particularly large liftboat to address the growing demand for these types of assets, both in the region and the world. We believe that this strategic asset will help augment our status as a partner in the life extension of mature fields and enhanced field maintenance services.”

Milaha Explorer
was built by Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industries at its yard in Liaoning Province, and was designed by Tianjin De-Sail Machinery Equipment Co.
