BARCELONA, Spain -- Marcelo Penna Engineering (MPE) has unveiled the MP625, a new FiFi-1 & DP-2 class vessel based on Trimaran hull forms.
It is designed to provide a wide range of activities such as crew transfer, emergency response and rescue, fast supply and service, emergency rig evacuation, and oil spill containment.
The 60-m (197-ft) long vessel can install a permanent dynamic compensated crew transfer gangway, and an 18-ton knuckle boom crane is said to increase its workability performance.
Maximum speed is 41 knots. Other features are said to include low-fuel consumption with a range in excess of 3,500 nm, a working-deck area of over 355 sq m (3,821 sq ft), stable seakeeping due to a small water plane area, a deadweight tonnage of 625 tons, 180 seats for transfer or evacuation activities, and accommodation for up to 16 crew members.
