OTC 2015: Ulstein show two new heavy-lift vessel designs

Ulstein has introduced at the 2015 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston its new HX103 and HX104 design DP-3 vessels with heavy-lift capability and large outreach combined with a large open deck space and accommodation for 350 and 500 people, respectively.

HOUSTON – Ulstein has introduced its new HX103 and HX104 design DP-3 vessels with heavy-lift capability and large outreach combined with a large open deck space and accommodation for 350 and 500 people, respectively.

The fully SPS compliant designs also mark the entry of the Ulstein X-BOW in this segment of the construction market.

The HX103 design includes a main crane of 1,000 metric tons (1,102 tons) @ 26 m (85 ft) outreach revolving and 320 metric tons (353 tons) @ 68 m (223 ft), as well as a deck crane of 50 metric tons (55 tons) @ 24 m (79 ft) outreach.

The HX103 has a length of 146 m (479 ft) and beam of 32 m (105 ft).

The larger HX104 design has a heavy-lift capability of 2,000 metric tons (2,205 tons) @ 30 m (98 ft) radius and 685 metric tons (755 tons) @ 74 m (243 ft) outreach.

It has an overall length of 174 m (571 ft) and beam of 36 m (118 ft).
