Butinah jackup sails to Zakum field offshore Abu Dhabi

SHARJAH, UAE – Lamprell (ticker: LAM) has delivered the newbuild jackup drilling rig Butinah to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Co. (NDC).

On May 1, the rig departed Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility for theZakum field offshore Abu Dhabi.

This was the sixth of nine rigs the contractor is building for NDC, all of the Cameron LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design.

All rigs delivered to date are on charter to theADNOC group of companies. 

NDC has options for up to two more jackups, the deadline for which has been extended to this summer.
