Aker Marine Contractors has entered into an agreement with Taubatkompaniet AS securing full marketing and operational control over the construction vesselsBoa Deep C and Boa Deep C II. The agreement runs for five years with options for extensions up to an additional four years. The company says that the execution of this agreement significantly enhances its position in the deepwater subsea and floating production markets.

TheBoa Deep C has enjoyed almost full utilization since the contractor placed the vessel in service in May 2004. The vessel is currently operating in the GoM.

Meanwhile, theBoa Deep C II is currently being outfitted in Spain with capacity to work in water depths up to 3,000 m. The vessel is also being equipped with the ability to lift payloads up to 400 metric tons.

The contractor adds that upgrading the vessel with improved capabilities makes it an ideal tool for working on challenging assignments in particularly harsh environments. The vessel is expected to enter the active construction market at the end of 2006.
