OSLO, Norway — BW Offshore has completed the sale of the Abo FPSO to STAC Marine Offshore, part of the Nigerian Transport Group (STAC).
Under the terms of the $20 million transaction, BW Offshore has now entered a bareboat charter with STAC providing for uninterrupted operations during a transition period of up to two months, after which STAC will assume responsibility for operating the vessel.
Keppel Shipyard converted the FPSO, originally a Suezmax tanker constructed in 1976, and since 2003 it has operated on the Abo Field offshore Nigeria.
