HAUGESUND, Norway  DeepOcean has agreed a two-year time charter agreement with Olympic Subsea for the Olympic Ares multi-purpose support vessel.

It plans to use the vessel and its 250-metric ton crane for subsea inspection, maintenance, and repair, light construction and recycling services to DeepOcean clients in the offshore oil and gas and renewable energy sectors.

The charter contract, due to start shortly, runs until the end of 2024, with extension options.

Olympic will upgrade the vessel’s DP system this year to optimize its performance and energy efficiency, allowing for a further reduction of the carbon footprint in line with DeepOcean’s CO2 emissions reduction strategy.

The vessel will be equipped with two Schilling HD ROVs.
