Offshore staff
OSLO, Norway — Dolphin Drilling’s Blackford Dolphin semisub is undergoing a special periodic survey in the Canary Islands ahead of a drilling program offshore Nigeria.
Following a delayed departure from Mexico, the rig was moored quayside at Las Palmas in late November. The survey will allow it to work continuously until 2028.
It will remain at the shipyard until early February, followed by a transit south to Port Harcourt, Nigeria, to begin a contract with General Hydrocarbons Ltd. (GHL).
Dolphin Drilling has now received a letter of award (LOA) from GHL for the rig to perform additional work off Nigeria, in direct continuation of the current contract. Day rate for the minimum firm period of the LOA, including mobilization, is $325,000.
