Valaris semisub completes tow from Dampier to Barossa offshore Australia

Valaris Ltd. announced that on July 16 the VALARIS MS-1 semisubmersible completed the tow from Dampier to the Barossa Field offshore the Northern Territory of Australia to commence work for Santos Ltd.

HOUSTON — Valaris Ltd. announced that on July 16 the VALARIS MS-1 semisubmersible completed the tow from Dampier to the Barossa Field offshore the Northern Territory of Australia to commence work for Santos Ltd.

“This significant drilling project has been in the planning for many months. I thank all those involved for their safe work in getting the rig ready, including our business partners involved in the project upgrades. Looking forward to a safe and successful operation for the Santos Barossa campaign,” said Alistair Mcdonald, Valaris rig manager.

In March 2020, Valaris announced that its VALARIS MS-1 was awarded a three-well contract with Santos offshore Australia that commenced in first-quarter 2021, with an estimated duration of 155 days.
