STAVANGER, Norway — Prosafe and Cosco Shipping (Qidong) Offshore Ltd. have agreed to extended delivery flexibility concerning the semisubmersible support rigs Safe Nova and Safe Vega.
Both were built at COSCO’s Qidong Shipyard to an enhanced GM500A design, incorporating 500 beds, a DP3 station keeping system and a 10-point wire mooring arrangement for flexible service in harsh offshore environments.
Once contract opportunities emerge, Prosafe will likely take the vessels to the market, with Brazil seen as the most probable option.
The company is marketing the vessels globally, but with no financial obligations until the vessels have been delivered.
