VIKING Norsafe to supply rescue craft for Australia FPSO

OSLO, NorwayBW Offshore has contracted VIKING Norsafe free-fall lifeboats, daughter craft and davits for a new FPSO offshore northern Australia.

The three VIKING Norsafe GES-50 Mk. III lifeboats will each be able to carry 70 people, with secondary launch and recovery provided by the HD-50 davits.

Finally, the VIKING Norsafe Munin-1000 daughter craft will have capacity for 21 persons, with a PLR-12005 Davit for launch and recovery. Including a three-person SOLAS crew, the vessel will be able to recover 18 survivors.

Its twin 300-HP engines and waterjets will supply the power and maneuverability for search and rescue operations.

VIKING will supply pre-tested boats and fully assembled davits to streamline on-site activities following delivery, and its team in Perth, Australia, will provide back-up and maintenance support once the FPSO has started operating.
