SINGAPORE BW Offshore has contracted Dyna-Mac to build the topsides modules for the FPSO that will operate at the Barossa gas/condensate field offshore northern Australia.

Dyna-Mac said its order book stands at S$368 million ($277 million), with deliveries up to 2023.

The company also said it is evaluating the need to expand its yard capacities and is increasing its local and overseas fabrication capacity to fulfil potential demand in FPSO topsides modules, LNG and hydrogen / ammonia production modules.

The Santos-operated Barossa field, 300 km (186 mi) from Darwin in the Timor Sea, will be developed via an FPSO with capacity to process up to 800 MMcf/d of gas and 11,000 b/d of stabilized condensate.

The FPSO, due to start operations in the first half of 2025, will be connected to six subsea production wells, with in-field facilities and a gas export pipeline tied into the Bayu-Undan to Darwin pipeline system that supplies gas to the Darwin LNG plant. Condensate will be stored on the FPSO for periodic offloading.
