HELSINKI, Finland – Wärtsilä has signed a five-year extension to a maintenance agreement covering Golar Management Norway’s fleet of floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) and LNG carriers.

Fourteen of the vessels are equipped with Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines; the other two have Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel and Wärtsilä 20DF dual-fuel engines.

The agreement will allow Golar to adopt a predictive maintenance strategy supported by dynamic maintenance planning and asset diagnostics.

Terms also provide for flexibility in maintenance scheduling by conducting maintenance based on actual equipment condition optimized for the vessels’ operations.

“Wärtsilä’s digital remote support capabilities have proved to be of great value for us, saving both time and costs by often eliminating the need to have service people sent onboard in person,” said Øistein Dahl, managing director of Golar Management Norway.
