Petrobras has awarded two offshore service contracts to TechnipFMC and Baker Hughes, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing production efficiency across Brazil’s offshore basins.

TechnipFMC inks subsea production systems contract

TechnipFMC has been awarded a subsea production systems contract—valued between $75 million and $250 million—by Petrobras, following a competitive tender process.

The scope includes the design, engineering and manufacturing of subsea systems for deployment across Petrobras’ greenfield developments, brownfield expansions and asset revitalizations.

The agreement also encompasses installation support and life-of-field services, with options for additional equipment and services. All systems will be manufactured and serviced in Brazil, leveraging local expertise and infrastructure to support Petrobras’ operational goals.

Baker contract extension for two stimulation vessels

Last week, Baker Hughes also announced a contract win from Petrobras. The multi-year agreement aims to extend the deployment of the Blue Marlin and Blue Orca stimulation vessels, supporting optimization of offshore oil and gas production in Brazil’s post-salt and presalt fields.

The award, which followed an open tender, also includes the provision of associated chemicals and services. Baker Hughes says Blue Marlin and Blue Orca will deliver advanced chemical treatments to stimulate wells, maximizing production in both brownfield and greenfield developments across multiple basins. In addition, these vessels will support well construction through gravel pack and frac pack operations.
