ExxonMobil to offer integrated subsea insulation solution

ExxonMobil’s resin system to be offered with ODYSEA’s thermal coatings.
Aug. 30, 2025

ExxonMobil Product Solution Company has acquired the exclusive licensing rights to ODYSEA’s Goldilocks (GDLX) thermal insulation technology for use with its Proxxima resin systems.

The combined Proxxima resin systems and the GDLX technology will now be offered as an integrated solution to coat and insulate subsea line pipes, field joints, and subsea equipment.

The Proxxima-GDLX solution is said to provide a low thermal conductivity for wet insulation, making it suited for flow assurance applications in the 90-180°C temperature range.

The companies say that the integrated insulation solution and licensing model will streamline access to Proxxima systems and ODYSEA’s technology suite. This arrangement will cover system design, ISO dossier qualifications, and process support, thereby enabling in-house execution of subsea insulation projects at specified locations.

ODYSEA’s New Iberia, Louisiana, site will continue supporting demonstrations, pre-marketing, and tolled production campaigns to accelerate Proxxima-GDLX commercialization, and to assist clients in launching their own operations.
