Oceaneering will seek to expand capacity at its umbilicals complex in central Scotland to accommodate subsea power cables production for offshore wind developments.

Scottish Enterprise said in a recent news release that it will provide a £400,000 ($541,000) grant for the project.

Since 1999, the site in Rosyth has been producing subsea communication, power and hydraulic umbilicals for connection to fixed and floating offshore oil and gas platforms.

For the initial R&D phase, Oceaneering plans to use the existing manufacturing equipment. Following completion of design and certification of the subsea power cables, the company will invest in new equipment and machinery to boost capacity.
