Vattenfall has handed DeepOcean framework agreements covering subsea cable operations and maintenance services for various European offshore wind projects.
The four-year deals apply to Vattenfall’s offshore wind farms in Denmark, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
DeepOcean will provide project management, engineering, pre-installation surveys, offshore transportation of cables, trenching, cable installation and jointing, termination and testing, post-installation surveys, and recovery/disposal of damaged cables.
Vattenfall has specified additional requirements related to response time and technical innovation. DeepOcean will allot personnel in Norway and the UK for project management and engineering work for call-off orders under the framework agreement.
Earlier this week, Vattenfall said it made FID on a conditional basis, pending the receipt of the required permit, for the Nordlicht 2 offshore wind farm, which will have a capacity of 630 MW. In addition, Vestas is set to provide 68 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for Vattenfall’s Nordlicht 1 offshore wind project in the German North Sea.
And late last year, Vattenfall extended Interocean Marine Services’ UK North Sea offshore wind farm frame agreement by a further four years. Under the arrangement, Interocean will start deploying ROV inspection services to support Below Water Balance of Plant operations at the Thanet, Kentish Flats, and Kentish Flats Extension wind farms offshore southeast England.
