ASHINGTON, UK– Nord Stream AG has ordered bespoke hot stabs from FES International for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

FES re-engineered its hot stab for the project following detailed collaborative working with Nord Stream AG. This bespoke work has ensured that the 8-in. hydraulically operated hot stabs are compatible with the existing pipeline.

Nord Stream AG provided a technical specification for the new project that included required operating temperatures, operating pressures, design life, and hydraulic activation pressures. The hot stabs have been delivered to the project with an installation date to be confirmed.

TheNord Stream 2 pipeline runs through the Baltic Sea from St Petersburg, Russia to Lubmin, Germany. The pipeline will be installed at a maximum depth of 200 m (656 ft) and will run for approximately 1,223 km (760 mi) when completed.
