M2 Subsea to assist KMZ pipe repairs offshore Mexico

M² Subsea will work with Frontera Offshore to deliver remedial pipeline work for Permaducto at the Ku-Maloob-Zaap oil field in the Bay of Campeche.

WESTHILL, UK – M² Subsea will work with Frontera Offshore to deliver remedial pipeline work for Permaducto, a subsidiary of Grupo Protexa, at the Ku-Maloob-Zaap (KMZ) oil field in the Bay of Campeche, 65 mi (105 km) northeast of Cuidad del Carmen.

This contract is M² Subsea’s first contract in the Gulf of Mexico region.

It will mobilize personnel from its Houston base onboard Frontera Offshore’s chartered multi-purpose support vesselTehuana to assist with pre- and post-lay surveys.

The program involves surveying a 4.66-mi (7.5-km) section of the KMZ-94 pipeline to be stabilized for Permaducto.

Two Triton work class ROVs will be deployed from theTehuanato deliver the survey services, with 277 mattresses to be installed at a depth of around 250 ft (76 m).
