Peregrino risers, cables ordered

Hydro and Anadarko Petroleum Corp. have signed a £18-million ($35.96-million) contract with Wellstream International Ltd. on delivery of 12 flexible risers for Peregrino oilfield offshore Brazil.

OSLO, Norway --Hydro and Anadarko Petroleum Corp. have signed a £18-million ($35.96-million) contract with Wellstream International Ltd. on delivery of 12 flexible risers for Peregrino oilfield offshore Brazil. The partners also signed a $19-million contract with Prysmian for power and communication cables.

The risers are to connect subsea pipelines to two wellhead platforms and an FPSO. The cables are to supply power and communication between the FPSO and the wellheads. Some 20 km (12.4 mi) of cables are on order.

Peregrino is 85 km (53 mi) offshore in 100 m (328 ft) of water. In addition to the FPSO and two platforms, development plans call for 30 horizontal production wells and seven water injection wells.
