Total contracts Intec for Gotcha subsea pre-FEED

Total E&P USA Inc. has awarded a contract to Intec Engineering for the subsea portion of the pre-FEED study on the Gotcha project.

HOUSTON -- Total E&P USA Inc. has awarded a contract to Intec Engineering for the subsea portion of the pre-FEED study on the Gotcha project. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of April.

Intec's workscope includes flow assurance, subsea flowlines, and evaluation of subsea development options working in collaboration with separate engineering contractors studying host and riser options.

The Gotcha field is in Alaminos Canyon block 856 in 2,210 to 2,469 m (7,250 to 8,100 ft) of water, 225 km (140 mi) east of Port Isabel, Texas.

Total is the operator of Gotcha with a 70% interest; Nexen Petroleum USA Inc. holds the remaining 30%.
