BP Norge awards well intervention service contract

STAVANGER, Norway --BP Norge AS has awarded a contract for well intervention personnel and equipment for Ula, Valhall, Hod, Tamber and Skarv fields on the Norwegian continental shelf to Aker Kvaerner.
The NOK 175 million ($28.7 million) contract covers mechanical wireline services, wireline tractor services and cased-hole logging.
"This new, long-term contract gives us the possibility to jointly develop and implement new intervention technologies to further enhance safety and increase operational efficiency", says Ole Petter Thomesen, president of Aker Kvaerner Well Service.
