Technip hires DOF Subsea for Angola survey

Technip has awarded DOF Subsea UK a contract worth around £2 million ($1.5 million) to provide survey and positioning services in BP-operated block 31, offshore Angola.

ABERDEEN, UK -- Technip has awarded DOF Subsea UK a contract worth around £2 million ($1.5 million) to provide survey and positioning services in BP-operated block 31, offshore Angola.

DOF Subsea will supply the services onboard theSkandi Bergen (supplied by DOF Subsea under a separate contract) and on board Technip’s lay vessel the Deep Blue. It is anticipated that the project will commence in 3Q 2010 and will last 119 days.

The company adds an extensive new build program is currently under way with eight new vessels and 16 new Triton XLX ROVs scheduled for delivery through 2011.
