KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- ONGC has awarded Leighton India a $17-million contract for subsea installations on the G1-GS15 Shallow Water Project in the Krishna-Godavari basin offshore India.
The G-1 field is 20 km (12.4 mi) off the Amalapuram coast in Andhra Pradesh state, in a water depth of 250-450 m (820-1,476 ft). It has been developed via subsea wells and a subsea production manifold. The wells are connected by twin flowlines exporting the wellstream to processing facilities onshore.
GS15 is a shallow water field 6 km (3.7 mi) offshore developed with one existing platforms, GS15-4, and one new platform, GS15-1, both integrated in the overall field development project.
Leighton’s scope includes: • Installation of a wye piece and 10-in. (25.4-cm) piggable full bore subsea valve • Installation of topside extensions on GS15-4 topsides • Installation and tie-in of riser on GS15-4 and GS15-1 topsides • Hook-up and pre-commissioning of topsides • De-watering, pigging, hydro testing and onshore tie in of subsea pipelines • Testing of an umbilical • Post-trenching and backfilling in near shore area.
Leighton will use its pipelay barge Leighton Stealth for this program. Work is due to start this month, continuing through March 2011.
