STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil Petroleum has awarded Acteon subsidiary IOS InterMoor a three-year global mooring frame agreement. The contract carries a further option to extend the agreement for two one-year periods.

IOS’ scope of work includes providing mooring equipment, personnel, and technical support to Statoil’s rig fleet, both in Norway and internationally.

The company (formerly IOS Offshore) has worked with Statoil for nearly 25 years, devising new types of mooring solutions and safe procedures for handling and deploying mooring equipment.

Rig support will be provided from IOS’ bases at Stavanger, Bergen, and Kristiansund, while its first rig mooring project overseas for Statoil starts next year in Canada.
