STAVANGER, Norway – The Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway has presented its investigation into drilling and well operations at Gullfaks.
“The non-conformances revealed and measures proposed in the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) report are mainly consistent with the findings of our own investigation into the well C06 incident on the Gullfaks field 19 May this year,” says Statoil’s Øystein Michelsen, executive vice president, Exploration and Production Norway.
Statoil will set up a separate team of management and employee representatives to implement the findings that followed the incident. These relate to risk management and change control, the transfer of experience, the application of competency and knowledge, compliance with governing documentation, and documentation of decisions made.
