OSLO -- ABB has agreed to charter the under construction vessel Aker Connector from Aker Solutions for its 2012 and 2013 installation campaigns. Under the contract, Aker Solutions will provide project management, engineering, and offshore execution.
The vessel is equipped to install long, heavy power cables and subsea umbilicals and will be ready for operations in 2012. The agreement includes options for further campaigns from 2014 to 2016.
ABB and Aker Solutions have also signed a strategic cooperation agreement for power cables (ABB) and installation services (Aker Solutions) on selected projects.
